When you visit the site

• Hosting. The site is hosted in France by OVHcloud (OVH SAS, Roubaix). Like any host, OVHcloud receives your device’s IP address to send you the pages and keeps it in its technical logs, for service security, for a limited time. See OVHcloud’s data protection policy.
• Version number. To show the latest version and the right download links, the page queries GitHub’s public API. GitHub (GitHub, Inc., United States) then receives your IP address, and no other data about you. See GitHub’s privacy statement.
• Preferences. Your theme choice (light or dark) is saved in your browser (local storage). It never leaves your device and is not used for tracking. You can clear it by deleting this site’s data in your browser.
• Fonts. Fonts are hosted on the site itself: no request is sent to Google or any other font service.
• Video. The demo video is hosted on YouTube and plays in the page in “privacy-enhanced mode” (youtube-nocookie.com). Until you press play, only an image hosted on our site is shown and nothing loads from YouTube. When you press play, YouTube (Google Ireland Limited) receives your IP address and may store information on your device, under its own rules: see Google’s privacy policy. Pressing play means you agree to this; if you don’t, don’t start the video.

The site itself sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising tools. The only third-party content, the video, loads only when you ask for it, so no consent banner is needed.

When you write to us

If you contact us by email or with the form, we receive your email address, your message and, if you give it, your name or pen name.

• Purpose: to reply to you, and to take your feedback or beta-tester application into account.
• Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering the requests we receive.
• Retention: for the duration of the exchange, then at most 3 years after our last contact. You can ask for deletion at any time.
• Recipients: only the site’s publisher reads your messages. They are never sold, lent, or used to send you advertising or a newsletter.

The form sends nothing by itself: it opens your own email app with the message ready. The message leaves from your mailbox, and the site keeps no trace of it.

The MondoWrite app

MondoWrite works with no account and no server of ours. Your projects are files saved in the folder you choose, on your computer. The app only goes online for the following:

• Updates: at most one check a day with GitHub, which you can turn off in Settings.
• Free photos: your keywords are sent to Openverse, Pixabay or Unsplash when you search.
• Link cards: the page whose address you paste is read to get its title and image.
• AI, if you connect it: locally (Ollama, LM Studio), nothing leaves your computer. With your own key (Claude, OpenAI, OpenRouter), the passages analysed are sent to that provider, under its terms. Your key stays on your device.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, erase, object to and restrict the processing of your data. To exercise these rights, write to the contact address: we reply within one month at most.

If you believe your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr), or with the authority in your country.

Changes

This policy may change, for example if a new service is added to the site. The update date is shown at the top of the page.
